1st attempt at using a stencil

I thought as i had some free stencils it would only be right to have a go. I used some no name inks and some make up sponges to add the colours.
While adding the colours i was so tempted to move the stencil to take a peak , but i didn't !!!

As you can see it didn't come out to bad !!!
 Shocked myself  :)

I enjoyed making this so hopefully i will be doing some more in the future .

I have used the stencilled image to make this card , Keeping with the same colour tones . Adding a simple sentiment and a ribbon bow. And what card wouldn't be finished without a few pearls.

Sweet Pea Framed box card

I thought i would have a little play today !!
I had no template for the box frame so had to improvise and make my own version. Lucky for me it worked first time.
Once i had the frame sorted it was time to choose a stamp!!!

Of course it had to be my new " sweet pea " stamp
Its such a cute image , who couldn't resist .

I tried to keep the card as simple as i could so the image would be eye catching .

A grosgrain ribbon and a few plain die cut flowers and butterfly were perfect for simplicity.

For the finishing touch i used some flat backed pearls for the flower centres and some liquid pearls to finish off the butterfly.

Fathers day Gift tin and bag

A simple plain bag decorated in bold colours

These plain bags are so on trend at the moment and can be picked up from most craft stores in many different sizes.

A plain tin to a bright and bold gift

For this i used a used ring pull tin as this dont leave sharp edges.
I covered the tin with coordinating papers and embellishment ,adding a few bits of card candi to finish it off.

The tin can be filled with many different items  . I will be filling this one with my dads favourite sweets ......Sherbet flying saucers !!!
Yummy .

YELLOW  "Stampin' up challenge"

                  Faith in nature

The theme for the challenge is "yellow" and not every item used has to be a stampin up product thankfully as i have limited items.
The stamped images and words are from "stampin' up"  Faith in nature collection .
The card stock and card blank are all basic card stock in pastel shades.
Inks used were by Tim Holtz and Stayz-on.
The flowers have been Handmade by myself  using a flower punch from pastel yellow paper.  Finally finishing off with a few punched leaves  a flourish in a pastel green and a few pearls.

A nice fresh feeling piece !!!

FIRST ATTEMPT AT  BOOK                         COVER

I started with a basic blank book base which i dabbed with Dusty concord and Victorian velvet Distress inks.  Then using clear ink i added a couple of butterflies and while wet gave then a light dusting of pink micro powder. I then stamped the tree using the dusty cord ink .
With my embossing pen i added a variety of other micro powders to give the tree some light catching effects.  The wording "NOTES" was stamped and heat embossed on separate paper cut out and glued to the book.
I then covered the parts of the book with clear ink , making sure that i used my old ink pad as it will pick up some of the micro powders . Then embossed with clear embossing powder.
Once dry i stamped the wording then finished by coating it all with varnish . Now i have experimented with this i'm sure i will be doing more . I also made a gift bag to match.
