                           There's no place like home

Good morning to you all and what beautiful weather we are having. Hope you are all making the most of it !!!

Today i have made a quick card to enter into a challenge as some times "less is more " and i'm having lots of fun playing with my new "magic of oz" papers and stamps. How ever as im so in love with the ruby slippers stamp i just had to make my own backing paper for this card.

I stamped  and coloured a image of Dorothy and her beloved dog Toto using promarkers. And with my lovely hand stamped slipper paper used the sketch from Kathy's waffle for the layout of my card . Some glitter for the slippers for a bit of sparkle and a few well placed gems for some extra detail. And what card wouldn't be finished without a bow and a flourish.

Thank you for taking the time to have a look at my blog  :) And i wish you all a happy fun filled day.

The magic of oz

Today i have made something for a friends birthday .  She is a avid Wizzard of oz fan and i must say i do like watching the film myself.

I have created this to go into a picture frame  which i will be decorating at a later point in time. So keep an eye out for updates on my blog.

All the papers i have used are from the " magic of oz "paper stack by Graphic 45 The ruby slippers and the yellow brick road are also from the co-ordinating stamp set.

I stamped the ruby slippers out on to white card using a red ink then heat embossed them with a clear embossing powder . When dry i added that little bit of sparkle and a gem. Attaching them using a peice of ribbon threaded through a eyelet .
Hope you have enjoyed looking at my "Magic of oz" and thank you for stopping by

Any thing but square white on white

Well yesterday i decided that i would spend today locked in my craft room. And i am so glad i have as the weather outside is yes you have you know "Raining" and very gloomy!!!

I have created a card to enter into a couple of challenges "Any thing but square" over at Emmas hints tips and crafty inspiration.

"White on white" over at cards galore.

The card base i made my self with the help of my trusty protractor as i always find circles a pain . I then covered the bases of the card blank with white doilies to give a pretty effect and texture.
I then made a display of white flowers and leaves adding pearls to the centres . I made some sprigs of pearls to give a bit more volume and texture to the flower display.

Using my bigshot i cut out several different size butterflies and a couple of flourishes  adding pearls to the largest butterfly and liquid pears on the smaller ones to give a raised body to them.
Once arranged i glued into place and added a ribbon and a few little liquid pearl drops.

 Tag swaps

As you all may know that i'm in a wonderful swap group with lots of friendly and welcoming people , who over the past 8 months have become friends to me more than just a person on the other end of the computer.  I know that a lot of people will feel the same way as i do .
I love to take part in all the swaps that go on over on our super little card swap group and i would like to share with you the latest tag swap i am doing.

The theme this month is Flowers and Butterflies.
I have used a butterfly backing paper from Do crafts tulips design then edge with flowery peeloffs .

I have made all the flowers from a flower punch . Who would of imagined that a flat flower cut out can make some beautiful 3 dimensional  flowers!!
I layered a couple of  die cut nesties on to of each other and arranged  my flowers to make a little display. Adding some pearls and a matching flourish and  placing a butterfly on to the arrangements. Finally finishing off by using liquid pears .

Here is a couple more of the tags i have made. The green and peach has been made from a Stampin up stamp "faith in nature" it has to be up there with one of my favourite sets of stamps...( i do how ever have a bit of a stamp fetish !!)

The bottom Tag is just a fun tag i made with free papers from one of my many craft magazines. Topped of with a couple of stamps.

I hope you have enjoyed taking a look at my tags ...Please feel free to take a look at our wonderful swap group over at

Have a great day and carry on crafting xxx

 *Reindeer at christmas*

Today i have made my 2nd christmas card for this year. As the weather is so bad outside i needed a warm feeling to cheer me up !! And what better way than the happy thoughts we all have at Christmas. So here is some christmas magic for you all to share .

The card is a 8x8 scalloped edge card base
I have matted a piece of Kanban white and holographic christmas card stock on to the card base.

The image is sentiment and snowflake embellishments are all also from the Kanban range. (Ready die cut to save my little fingers having to work to hard cutting out )

Using my Bigshot i cut out the matting and layering peices out of silver mirror board  to place my image and embellishments onto .

Finding the mirror board was looking to flat i embossed them with a snowflake design giving the card more depth and texture.
I place a ribbon around a strip of silver mirror card to make the centrer border. once the card was fully assembled i added some finishing touches  which include a tassel , some beautiful light purple metallic pearls and some clear gems for extra sparkle .

I hope that this card has made you feel as warm and cosy as i do now.

I would like to enter this card in to the http://craftcreatoins.blogspot.co.uk/  challenge

Thank you also much for taking the time to look at my work. Have a great day love Caroline ( crafty-bits) xxx

 Lady in green

I know this looks like it is blue but it is a teal green, Maybe it is time to purchase a new camera!!!!
As i have been really busy over the last few days due to unfortunate happenings . I decided that i would use a free gift from the "Debbie Moore "  magazine.

The card blank is a plain white A4 280gms  piece of stock card which  i  have made myself into a stepper card.
I have covered the card with matching backing papers and reverted back to basic card making by edging with some fine line gold  boarder peel offs..

I have double heat embossed the main image to give a glossy photo finish.
The glitter border consists of double sided tape covered in fine diamond gold glitter.
A few well placed gold gems and a couple of teal green bows to set it all off .

Hope you have enjoyed viewing this project all comments welcome. Thank you

Love Caroline xxx

Two good friends

Written with a pen, sealed with a kiss,
If you are my friend, please answer me this:
Are we friends, or are we not?
You told me once, but I forgot.
So tell me now, and tell me true,
So I can say I'm here for you.
Of all the friends I've ever met,
You're the one I won't forget.
And if I die before you do,
I'll go to Heaven and wait for you,
I'll give the angels back their wings
And risk the loss of everything.
There isn't a thing I wouldn't do,
To have a friend just like you!
